NEW DELHI: As the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) has released the Admit Cards for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 on Tuesday, April 17. All the aspirants must be burning the midnight oil for securing a seat for themselves in medical undergraduate courses (MBBS/BDS) for the year 2019.
This year, around 13,36,000 candidates have applied for the pre-medical and dental examination, for which the application process has ended on March 12, 2022.
There are 66,000 seats are on offer for the admission in government, government-aided and private colleges. It means only 4.49 (approx 4) will be able to get the admission out of 100 students.
All medical institutions consider NEET score for providing admission in MBBS/BDS courses.
Last year, around 11.5 candidates had enrolled for the NEET 2022 exam.
The CBSE will conduct the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in the session 2021-22 on Sunday, May 6, 2021.
For the first time, the NEET exam was conducted on May 5, 2013, in English and Hindi. Later Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia languages were added in 2017.
In 2013, the Supreme Court of India declared NEET exam illegal and unconstitutional. However, in 2016 a five-judge bench recalled the earlier verdict and allowed the Central Government and the Medical Council of India (MCI) to implement the NEET.
