It was a dream of the founder of Kumudini Welfare Trust, Rai Bahadur Ranada Prasad Shaha to establish a women’s medical college in the Hospital Complex at Mirzapur, Tangail. KWMC was therefore established in 2001. It is one of the institutions of Kumudini Welfare Trust (KWT).
With the Trust’s experience of over 80 years in the field of health and education, we believe that it is our moral responsibility to promote medical services and to bring out doctors committed to the nation. We train our students to be directly associated with the patients. Along with Kumudini Hospital, KWMC is located within Kumudini Complex, which covers an area of 110 acres of land. KWMC recruits academically outstanding and culturally diverse students from Bangladesh and beyond.
Presently we enroll 110 students per batch which includes 55 foreign students. At any given time there are more than 600 students which include roughly 170 foreign students studying in this institution.
From the very beginning it is a full residential college with all the modern facilities. The College is committed to providing excellent medical education programs that produce skilled, compassionate and caring physicians who are proficient in the science and art of medicine, dedicated to the ethical and social principles of the profession and committed to a lifetime of continued learning.
