BGC Trust Medical College, a private medical college established in 2002 and affiliated with Chittagong University, has specific eligibility criteria for MBBS admission. These criteria are consistent with those of other private medical colleges in Bangladesh.
Key eligibility criteria include:
Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 17 years old.
Academic Qualifications: Applicants must have completed 12 years of schooling with subjects including biology, physics, and chemistry, achieving at least 60% marks. Additionally, a minimum GPA of 7 in biology, chemistry, and physics is required.
NEET Examination: Applicants must have passed the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) with at least 50% marks.
No Long Education Gaps: Students with more than a 2-year gap after their HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) or equivalent course of studies are not eligible for admission.
For foreign students, additional steps are required:
Passport Requirement: Applicants must have a passport from a country that maintains diplomatic relations with Bangladesh.
Equivalency of Grades: Applicants’ grades must be equivalent to the Bangladeshi SSC (Secondary School Certificate) and HSC. This includes a minimum GPA of 9.00 (with at least 3.5 in each SSC and HSC) and a minimum GPA of 3.5 in biology.
Document Attestation: Photocopies of school/college graduation certificates, mark/grade sheets, school leaving certificates (testimonials), a copy of the passport, and two passport-size photographs must be attested from the foreign ministry of the applicant’s country.
Admission Form: Applicants must download and fill out the ‘MBBS admission form’ from the website of the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry and pay the applicable fee.
