Army Medical College Bogura: MBBS Education in Bangladesh
Army Medical College Bogura (AMCB) is a private medical institution operated under the Bangladesh Army, offering a structured environment for aspiring doctors. Established in 2014, the college welcomed its first cohort of 50 students in January 2015. Located in the Bogura Cantonment area, AMCB is affiliated with Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), and its MBBS degree is recognised by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
The college offers a five-year Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery programme, followed by a compulsory one-year internship. This pathway combines academic study with practical medical training, helping students develop the knowledge and clinical foundation required for professional practice. Clinical training is associated with Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Bogura, connecting classroom learning with hospital experience.
AMCB’s permanent campus was inaugurated on 29 September 2022, replacing the earlier development-stage facilities described in older profiles. Spread across approximately 8.5 acres, the campus includes a five-storey academic building, departmental laboratories, tutorial classrooms, multimedia lecture facilities and conference spaces. Playgrounds, gardens and recreational areas complement the academic setting.
As a residential institution, AMCB requires students to live in college accommodation. Separate male and female dormitories provide organised residential facilities, including Wi-Fi, common rooms and indoor recreation. College transport supports necessary academic activities, while residential rules establish expectations for student conduct and daily routines.
For international applicants, careful preparation starts with checking the applicable admission circular, academic eligibility, documentation requirements and intake-specific fees. Students should also verify the medical registration requirements of the country where they intend to practise.
