Prime Medical College Eligibility Criteria

The Prime Medical College Hospital was formally started its function on 17 August 2007 with a bed capacity of 310 which has now been extended to 750 beds. It is a tertiary care medical facility. The hospital provides all sorts of Medical & Surgical services.

The Hospital has well equipped medical, general surgical, obstetrics and gynecological, pediatric, Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology, Urology, ENT, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery,  Neurosurgery Unit & Neonatal ICU.

Foreign Student

At present the college has about 613 students in nine batches including intern students, starting from the 2008-2009 session. after regular inspection and evaluation of the academic and management performance and the facilities available in the college, the Rajshahi University, and MOH & FW, the Government of Bangladesh has accorded permission for admission of 50% foreign students from the 2014-2015 academic session.

Prime Medical College Eligibility for foreign students :

The foreign student to admit in the MBBS course must be passed the SSC/SLC/O-level/GCSE or equivalent examination with a minimum of 5 subjects and an average mark minimum GPA-3.00. Also, pass in HSC/A-level/12- grade or equivalent examination with Biology, Chemistry & Physics average mark minimum GPA 3.00 but Minimum aggregate GPA in SSC/SL-level/GCSE and HSC/A- 12 grade or equivalent examination: 7.00 (seven) and Biology must be pass with GPA 3.50

All foreign students must be applying to the Director-General of Health Service of Government of Bangladesh for an equivalence certificate through the Bangladesh Embassy. All certificates/mark sheets/other certificates and passport photocopies are attested by respected country’s Education Board or Ministry of Education and authenticate by the respective country’s Foreign Minister.

The fee structure for 5 years MBBS Course for Foreign Student:

40,500.00. Excluding accommodation and excluding food charges.

Additional expenses on arrival inPayment Details:

college campus:

Hostel admission fees US$ 300.00 (single payment). Hostel yearly rent US$ 600.00 per person and three persons share a room without all utility bills. Dinning will pay on at actual per meal basis. Approx US$ 35.00 per month.

Hostel admission fee USD 200.00 (Single Payment). Hostel rent for 3 persons share a room for USD 600.00 per year per person and 2 persons share a room for USD 630.00 per year per person. Dinning will pay at actual per meal basis approx USD = 35.00 per month. Hostel admission fees US$300.00 (single payment). Govt. Tax US$ 1000.00 (single payment)

Local Student

Admission Procedure for Local Student:

Admission to the Prime Medical College is through 1^st  year. Admission is based on the merit list position acquired in the admission test conducted by the DGHS. In Prime Medical College the 12^th Batch will be admitted in the 2020-21 session.

Eligibility of local students for admission test:

• The applicant must be
  a Bangladeshi Citizen
• Passed SSC or Equivalent examination in 2018 or 2019 and HSC or equivalent in 2020 or 2021 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• Must have a minimum combined GPA of 9.0, an individual minimum GPA of 3.5, and a minimum GPA of 3.5 in Biology at HSC.

‘O’ and ‘A’ level examination candidates should submit equivalence certificates from the Director-General of Health Services, Govt. of Bangladesh, along with the application.

Selection Process : 

Admission test conducted by the DGHS. Selection is based on three items-

• SSC GPA.15 =  75
• HSC GPA.25 =  125
• Admission Test = 100
• Total   = 300

Eligibility for admission: Students having at least 40 marks in the written medical college entrance examination are eligible for admission in the MBBS course.

Application Process for Admission:

Prospectus and Application Form are available from the college office on payment of Tk. 1000/- during the time period (decided by DGHS) between 8:00 am-4.00 pm.

Filled –in the application form by own handwriting should be submitted to the college student section during office hours.

The following documents are to be submitted along with the
application:

• Student copy of online Application.
• Copy of Admit card of MBBS Admission test.
• Copy of result of the MBBS admission test.
• Attested photocopy of certificate & Transcript of S.S.C/Equivalent exam.
• Attested photocopy of certificate & Transcript of H.S.C/Equivalent exam.
• Attested photocopy of Testimonials both from school & college.
• Attested recent Photograph 4 copies (pp size) & 3 copies(stamp size).
• Receipt of Application fees.
• Attested photocopy of Nationality certificate from Mayor/Chairman of City Corporation/ Pourashova/ Union Parishad.
• Financial ability certificate of Parent/Guardian.
• Photocopy of Freedom-Fighter / Tribal Certificate (if applicable).
• ‘O’ level & ‘A’ level / Equal mark sheets Equivalence Certificate from the DGHS.

N.B:   Original copies of the above mentioned must be submitted at the time of admission

Admission to the Course:

Selected candidates shall have to report to the College administration for admission as per the specified date and time. The vacant seats will be filled up from the candidates in the waiting list (In case of failure in admission by the selected candidates within the stipulated date and time.
